WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley says that former rival Blake Monroe might be her wrestling soulmate.
Ahead of her WWE main roster call up to the SmackDown brand, Blake Monroe competed in her final match for NXT back at NXT Revenge week 2, where she lost to NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley in a Coffin match.
This was the second clash between Tatum and Blake, with the first coming back at NXT Stand & Deliver, where Tatum retained the title against Blake.
Tatum Paxley Says Blake Monroe Could Be Her Wrestling Soulmate
Speaking to the The Mark Moses Show, Tatum was asked about her promo segment with Blake in New York to set up their match at Stand & Deliver.
Tatum opened up on the connection she had with Blake, and how she could be her wrestling soulmate.
She said:
“She’s one of those people that, the second she stepped foot into NXT, I was like ‘I have to have interactions with this girl’.
“Something with me and Blake, we know ourselves so well, and something I really appreciated, aside from the words we had to say with each other, we had this amazing eye contact that I don’t really feel like I get with a lot of people.
“Any time I’m on stage, talking with my heart, sometimes people tend to look around, look at the audience, her and I were so locked in on each other and meant and felt everything we were saying, so I have like a really great connection with her from that promo, I just remember staring at her and we were not looking away. We were locked in on each other, and that was really cool.
“Getting to do things with her, any time I stepped away from it I was like ‘this feels right’. She might be my wrestling soulmate, I’m not sure.”

Tatum Paxley’s Incredible Year In NXT
Tatum Paxley has found herself having a rather memorable last year on the NXT brand, with her becoming only the second wrestler to win both the NXT Women’s and NXT Women’s North American Championship.
Tatum has also consistently competed in great matches on the NXT brand, including matches with Jacy Jayne, Blake Monroe, Izzi Dame and most recently Lizzy Rain on this week’s NXT show.
With a great output over the past year, we could soon see Tatum be in line for a call up to Raw or SmackDown in the not too distant future.
