Sol Ruca has admitted to being nervous ahead of her WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event match with Becky Lynch on May 23.
For the second time this year, WWE brings fans Saturday Night’s Main Event, with the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana hosting tomorrow night.
Among the five match card is a first-ever singles encounter between one of WWE’s all-time greats in Becky Lynch and one of the company’s brightest hopes for the future: Sol Ruca.
Speaking with Ringer Wrestling, Sol Ruca shared her thoughts on working with Lynch, saying she has to try an attempt to temper her nerves when sharing the ring with “The Man.”
Ruca said:
“Honestly I just try and be locked in for what is at hand. I have to show up and just do my best. I try to not get too too nervous. I honestly just allow myself to get nervous when I’m backstage right before I’m about to go out, but then once my music hits it’s go time.
“But yeah I mean, I’m definitely nervous, she’s one of the greatest to do this. She’s The Man. She’s incredible. And even being in the ring cutting promos with her, it’s like oh my God, she’s just so good at what she does that it’s nerve-wracking.
“But again, I think that I am prepared for this and I think that what I’ve done so far, I’m proud of it. So I’ve just got to keep riding that wave.”

Host David Shoemaker would then rightfully mention that legends such as Becky Lynch didn’t always have the delivery and skillset she has at this stage of her career, and Ruca said remembering that does “definitely help” when she begins drawing comparisons to herself and those with far more experience.
Ruca continued:
“Oh yeah definitely, it definitely does help me and it makes me feel a little bit more confident going in, cuz I am still so new to this, I’ve only been doing this four years. And I’m getting in the ring with Becky’s and Bayley’s and Liv’s, who have been doing this for so long and are so so good.
“And like I do sometimes compare myself to them sometimes, but I need to not compare myself to them right now. I need to not compare myself to them at all, but knowing their process and how they’ve came to be, it just makes me excited to see where I’m going to be when I’m at that level or that far into my career.”
