Sol Ruca says she has a “few tricks up her sleeve” when it comes to using her Sol Snatcher finishing move on Becky Lynch at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

This Saturday, May 23 sees the next edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, this time emendating from the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

One of the marquee bouts on the card of the show is a first-time singles match meeting between recent NXT call-up Sol Ruca and current WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch.

While Lynch carries the gold, the bout will not be contested for the Women’s IC Title, despite WWE’s official preview of the match mistakingly stating that was the case.

One of the most exciting aspects of Sol Ruca’s in-ring work is her finishing move the Sol Snatcher, a unique flipping Cutter move that Lynch already tasted during her and Ruca’s first interaction with each other two weeks ago.

During an interview with Ringer Wrestling ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event, Sol Ruca was asked whether she has any special plans for her Sol Snatcher finish against Lynch this weekend, to which she replied:

“Yeah, I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I’ve been thinking about pulling out.

“Once I hit something that’s different, like off the steps or off the top, it’s always like ‘Man, what else can I do?’ But I feel like with how wrestling is, everyone’s move set is so different.

“There’s going to countless possibilities, countless ways to counter certain things right into it. So, (I) definitely have some stuff in mind, but we’ll see.”

Sol Ruca Explains The Origins Of The Sol Snatcher

While there have been plenty of Cutters in pro wrestling, Ruca’s Sol Snatcher stands out as a truly inventive spin on the classic finishing move.

Discussing the origins of the move, Ruca explained how she wanted a finisher that she could hit on anyone and one that could incorporate her background in gymnastics:

“So with my background, I wanted my finish to be something that incorporated that.

“I feel like my background is pretty unique. We do have some other gymnasts in wrestling, but I just wanted something that was unique to me and something that I could do on anyone. It doesn’t matter I’m tired in the match, or they’re bigger than me or smaller than me.

“So, I was trying to think of something that hasn’t necessarily been done before. And I did a move in gymnastics on the bar that is called a straddle back, which is a release move from the high bar to the low bar.

“It’s essentially the same sort of rotation, which is a reverse gainer. So a gainer, you’re jumping forward but flipping backwards, whereas I’m jumping backwards and flipping forwards. So now instead of catching the bar, I’m catching humans.”
