Becky Lynch has clarified the status of her match against Sol Ruca at Saturday Night’s Main Event after erroneous advertising by WWE.

The match between Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lynch and recent NXT call-up Ruca was set up on Raw this past Monday.

After Lynch accepted the match, Ruca said she was excited to be getting a title shot, before Lynch corrected her and pointed out that she never said it would be a championship match, and Ruca would have to earn that before Lynch would be willing to put her title on the line.

However, the official WWE website later advertised the match as being for the championship, with Lynch now clarifying that won’t be the case, and jokingly blaming the confusion on “the biased wrestling media.”

There seems to be misinformation regarding my Saturday Nights Main Event match! (The biased wrestling media is pushing the agenda that the title should be on the line!!)

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!! I CLEARLY stated that SUCKER Sol Ruca has done NOTHING to earn a shot at MY VERY PRESTIGIOUS IC TITLE!!

Another Potential Big Win For Sol Ruca At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

While she was officially called up to WWE Raw full-time after WrestleMania 42, Sol Ruca’s main roster run really kicked off last year, including a win against Bayley at the Saturday Night’s Main Event that hosted John Cena’s retirement match in December.

This was followed up by a third place finish in the women’s Royal Rumble match.

With Lynch’s Women’s Intercontinental Title not on the line at this Saturday, this could mean Ruca is set to get another big win without it having to lead to a title change.

That said, it could also just be WWE trying to apply logic and making sure Ruca ‘earns’ the shot with some wins before getting a title match, but that wouldn’t exactly be consistent with the company’s usual booking.
