‘Dye Your Hair Black, Cut Your Beard Different’ – Jimmy Hart Reveals Advice He Wanted To Give Sami Zayn For Trick Williams WWE Feud

WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart has revealed the advice he wanted to give Sami Zayn for his feud with United States Champion Trick Williams.

Sami Zayn and Trick Williams WWE WrestleMania 42 feud gave fans a rare double turn, with Zayn walking out of “The Grandest Stage of Them All” firmly a heel and Trick Williams a babyface.

While the majority of fans have turned their back on Zayn (aside from his “ride or dies” of course), the former United States Champion has yet to truly embrace his turn by altering his look or presentation.

Instead, Zayn has focused on how the fans have switched up on him, despite heel-ish actions such as capitalizing on outside interference from Trick Williams to successfully dethrone Carmelo Hayes for the United States Championship in March.

During the latest episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About? With Cody Rhodes, Jimmy Hart recalled speaking with Zayn about his WrestleMania match with Trick, and revealed what he “wanted to say” to him about potentially changing up his presentation and look:

“I rode with Sami Zayn in the van at WrestleMania. We were talking and everything else, I knew he was going against Trick. (I said), ‘Look when you got the outfits Trick’s got, and you got the music, and you got the manager, and you got everything you got, people are gonna love you, you know that and I do too.’ 

“I didn’t say it to Sami but I wanted to say, ‘You know Sami, when you make a change you gotta change that look.’ I wanted to say ‘Dye your hair black, cut your beard different, black, that’s a change. Do a different outfit, because sometimes you can’t just keep the same look. But I didn’t want to say that because he’d probably stretch me, so I kept my mouth shut. But sometimes you have to do that.”

What Next For Sami Zayn Following Second Trick Williams Defeat?

After losing the United States Championship to Trick Williams at WWE WrestleMania 42, Sami Zayn failed to recapture his gold three weeks later at Backlash on May 9.

On the May 15 episode of SmackDown, Sami Zayn requested another rematch with Trick Williams, whilst claiming to have remorse for his underhanded actions as of late. SmackDown GM Nick Aldis was not convinced however, and told Zayn he would need to earn another title shot, rather than acting “entitled.”

Zayn would then talk to Johnny Gargano, who remains unresponsive in a depressive episode. While Zayn’s words appeared to be falling on death ears, and only riling up Gargano’s ignored spouse Candice LeRae, Gargano appeared to react slightly to Zayn telling him that he needed to remember who he was – something that also seemed to act as a pep talk to himself at the same time.

This has led to speculation that an alliance of sorts could be formed between Zayn and Gargano, with a pursuit of the WWE Tag Team Championships perhaps a fresh new direction for Zayn at this point in time.
