WWE Raw star Ethan Page has explained why he hates the terms ‘NXT call up’ and ‘main roster’ ahead of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

On the Raw after WrestleMania 42, Ethan Page made his debut on Monday Night Raw after a two-year run in WWE NXT.

Since arriving on Raw, Page has picked up a lot of success in a short time, including a pinfall victory over Intercontinental Champion Penta, setting up his match for the Intercontinental Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend.

Ethan Page Says He Hates Term ‘NXT Call Up’

While many would say that Page received his main roster call up on the Raw after WrestleMania, Page has explained why he personally hates those terms.

Speaking on Raw Recap, Page likened the brand he was performing on to playing for a sports team, and believes he has simply been ‘traded’ to Raw as opposed to ‘called up’.

He said:

“This is the thing, this did not start when I debuted on Monday Night Raw, I have disagreed with this egregious phrase ‘call up’ or ‘getting called up’ or my least favorite phrase; ‘the main roster’.

“When I was in NXT, that was the brand that I worked for. That was the jersey that I wore. The team I had to play for. Well I’ve just been traded.

“When I wore the NXT jersey, still the best player on the field, I just wear a different jersey now. I’ve been dangerous in NXT, I will be dangerous on Monday Night Raw, and if for some reason they want to strike a deal and send me to SmackDown so I can take the belt from Cody, that sounds great too.

“I said this when I was there and I’m so happy I can say it while I’m in the seat I knew I would take; there is no main roster. Wherever you put Ethan Page is the best show in the WWE.”
