Blake Monroe has opened up about the experience of working with Shawn Michaels in NXT and Triple H on WWE SmackDown.
A former NXT Women’s North American Champion, Blake Monroe has been called up to the main roster, although has yet to debut on SmackDown.
During a recent interview with Vicente Beltrán, Monroe addressed the experience of working with Shawn Michaels, who oversees NXT creative.
Stating that she’s excited to work more with Triple H, the WWE Chief Content Officer, Monroe said:
“Oh, I’m so excited. I mean, my time in NXT, Shawn Michaels was so hands-on, like he wasn’t afraid to literally take bumps to show you what his vision is. But he was also really collaborative, because he’s like “only you know The Glamour, and only you know how you’re going to feel and react to this”. He respects, like, what makes people different, but also, he’s one of the best wrestlers in the world, he’s Shawn Michaels.
“That was awesome, and then now I get to work with Triple H. Based off of my real-life name, my nickname at school was Triple M, because everyone was like ‘She’s the wrestling fan,’ and then everybody watched WWE, so we knew John Cena, Batista, Triple H, everyone. So, I was Triple M.
“I’m so excited to work with him. I’ve been at SmackDown. I haven’t debuted yet, but every week it’s possible.
“I see how hands-on he is in terms of producing matches or things that he wants. I’m really excited to get that knowledge, and I’m really lucky to have access to that and to have access to these people who have had such amazing careers.
“Now they’re gonna share a bit of knowledge with The Glamour.”

With a vignette airing on the April 24 episode of WWE SmackDown hyping the main roster debut of Monroe, she would tease the possibility of making such an appearance in Spain.
Monroe debuted on the June 3 episode of NXT last year, although would arrive without a WWE name, having previously competed as Mariah May in AEW.
The D-Generation X Rebels Excel In The Executive Class
Looking back at the history of DX, it’s difficult to imagine Triple H and Shawn Michaels becoming the business leaders that they are today.
The creation of NXT would eventually see Michaels transition into a creative and producer role behind the scenes, with the brand led by Triple H, who would rise to higher levels initially as Chief Operations Officer in 2022 and into his current Chief Content Officer role later that same year.
Triple H’s tenure as the creative force in WWE has not been without criticism, particularly in the run-up to WrestleMania 42, but he continues to steer the ship into a future that balances the expectations of TKO and the fans, while Shawn Michaels has arguably revolutionized NXT, a brand that seem to have lost direction during its 2.0 era.
It seems that Triple H and Shawn Michaels are both more interested in building the future than they are in their own legacy, as is only hinted at in the words that Blake Monroe has shared.
More than just men in suits, Triple H and Shawn Michaels are both executives with a storied history in WWE, carrying respect with them built over generations of experience and garnered from their peers and contemporaries. As with any business, every decision is unlikely to be met with universal praise, but short-term obstacles should never be a limiting factor to long-term success.
