Jimmy Hart has recalled Hulk Hogan’s reaction to the Los Angeles crowd booing him during their segment at the WWE Raw on Netflix premiere on January 6, 2025.

In what was Hulk Hogan’s final live WWE appearance before his passing at the age of 71 on July 24, 2025, he and Jimmy Hart hit the stage during the WWE Raw on Netflix premiere episode on January 6, 2025.

With Hogan’s Real American Beer being an official WWE sponsor, “The Hulkster” attempted to comment on WWE Raw’s new “tag team” with Netflix, but given the many controversies to his name, Hulk was showered with boos that got increasingly louder as the segment went on.

Jimmy Hart was also present for the segment, with the WWE Hall of Famer waving the American flag in the background. And during his appearance on What Do You Wanna Talk About? With Cody Rhodes, Hart recalled Triple H’s instructions to not let the flag touch the ground during the entire segment:

“When I went out with Hulk for that California deal we did, I had the flag. Triple H goes, ‘Jimmy, whatever you do, don’t let that flag touch the ground.’ I said, ‘Don’t worry baby I ain’t.’

Discussing the segment itself, Hart recalled expressing worry to Hogan about what was going to happen given, but the former multi-time WWE Champion telling him “don’t worry about it”:

“I said, Hulk I don’t feel good about this. (Hulk said) ‘Jimmy don’t worry about it.’

“…I’m worrying about it. We’re in the back he said, ‘Jimmy Hart what do you think? He always asked before we do something, and I just said, ‘No, everything’s good. Everything’s ok. So we went out did the thing we rehearsed, where we were gonna stand and Hulk was gonna do his deal, I’m waving the flag…

“We go out and we do it and I’m really worried about it, we go out and all of a sudden: ‘Boo.’ ‘Uh oh.’ Now I’m thinking to myself it’s ok Jimmy because I’m playing like I’m managing the Hart Foundation against the British Bulldogs back in my hay day. So I’m waving the heck out of the heck out of the flag and it gets more and more and more.”

Hart then recalled Hogan being happy that the segment garnered a “good rating,” while also being resigned to how people were going to react to him on the night:

“Hulk calls me the next day and he goes, ‘Hey the ratings were good on that segment we did.’ And I said, ‘Well I guess they should be with all the commotion that happened with it, I guess they should have. You kept telling me to stop worrying about it, but I was worried about it.’

“And he goes, ‘Jimmy, sometimes you’ve gotta do what you gotta do. I’ve made my bed and I’ve got to lie in it. That’s who I wanted to vote for, that’s what I wanted to do.’”

Cody Rhodes then threw in what he observed from Hogan’s reaction to the crowd during the segment, with Cody getting the sense that Hogan wanted to lean into the boos and play the heel, something Jimmy confirmed:

“When we got in the back he said, ‘I knew I should have worn the NWO t-shirt. I wanted to turn heel on them so bad.”
