WWE’s Charlotte Flair says that she would change ‘everything’ about her feud with Becky Lynch following Becky’s heel turn.
In 2018, Becky Lynch made a major switch in her career, going from the ‘Lass Kicker’ to ‘The Man’ after her heel turn on Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam.
Following the turn, a feud got underway between Becky and Charlotte, which led to them main eventing WrestleMania 35 alongside Ronda Rousey.
Charlotte Flair Would Change ‘Everything’ About Becky Lynch Rivalry
A new WWE Rivals A&E special is set to focus on Becky and Charlotte’s rivalry this weekend, and Charlotte spoke to TMZ’s Inside the Ring about her rivalry.
Charlotte mentioned that she saw the feud as a learning moment, and admits she would change ‘everything’ about it from her end.
She said:
“It was probably one of the biggest highlights in her career, but it was probably one of the biggest learning moments for me in my career.
“(She would have changed) Everything. For me, not for Bex, for me. Because she was the bad guy getting cheered, and I was the good guy getting booed, instead of going ‘why are they booing me, why don’t they like me’ and then changing how I worked, and it kind of made me insecure in the ring.
“I could have been ‘dude they’re booing, they’re reacting, go with it. Soak all of that in instead of shying away or trying to be liked’. When someone is trying to be liked, that’s when everyone’s like ‘ugh’.
“So I learned so much from that, and when I watch it back I’m like ‘what was I thinking’, but still very proud of the body of work. The Evolution match was incredible, getting to main event (WrestleMania), but I go back and say ‘why did I do that’.”

Charlotte Flair Says Animosity With Becky Lynch Helped Both Grow
There were reports about backstage animosity between Charlotte and Becky around 2021, which led to the now-infamous title swap segment on SmackDown, where the pair swapped their Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship titles ahead of a match at Survivor Series.
While Becky and Charlotte would later make amends in 2023, Charlotte was asked about the animosity between the two, and if she thought it helped make their rivalry better.
She said:
“Do I think it helps? I think, with Becky and I, we both wanted to be on top. It’s like with Sasha and I, we both wanted to be on top. Any time you get two alphas in the room and they want to be the best, there’s gonna be tension, and I think that’s how it should be. If you’re not in the game to be the best then what are you doing.
“The thing with Becky and I, as she got better I got better, as I got better she got better. You want that. You want competition. Competition breeds competition, it’s how you get better.”
