Willow Nightingale has announced on AEW Dynamite tonight that she has vacated the TBS Championship due to injury.

She also confirms she’s had to withdraw from the upcoming Owen Hart Foundation tournament, which would have seen her face Alex Windsor at Double Or Nothing.

She said:

“Winning this championship was one of the greatest moments of my career. And I haven’t had a shortage of great moments in my time in AEW.

“I’ve won the Owen before, I’ve won the TBS Title before this reign, and I’ve become half of the very first AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions.

“But winning this back from Mercedes (Mone), I knew that if I could do that, that I would prove to myself, I could prove to the world, that I’m everything I believed I could be.

“Which is why I told myself I would fight day in day out to any challenger that stepped up. And if I couldn’t do that, then I didn’t deserve to be the TBS Champion.

“As fate would have it, in my most recent title defense against Red Velvet, I injured my right shoulder.

“I want so bad to wrestle at Double Or Nothing in front of my family at home in New York against Alex Windsor. I want to go on in the Owen and go to All In and become the AEW World Champ.

“But unfortunately, I have to withdraw from the Owen Hart Cup. Furthermore, I must relinquish the TBS Championship.

“It’s been an honor and a privilege to hold this championship, and after 10 successful title defenses, I’m overjoyed to have been the face of TBS.

“But as sure as this smile remains on my face, I will be back. I don’t know when, but I’ll tell you this – I’m coming right back to the top.

“So everyone, thank you.”
