All Elite Wrestling is just a few short days away from the Double Or Nothing 2026 pay-per-view from Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York City.

The company has already announced a stacked lineup of matches and could leave even more lasting memories for their fans by having some long absent stars make their comeback.

With this being one of the biggest events of the year for the promotion, Double Or Nothing 2026 feels like it could be the ideal setting for several returning stars to reinsert themselves into the mix on May 24.

Here are eight potential returns at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026.

8. Keith Lee

There is no AEW star who has been absent from the company as long as Keith Lee right now.

Having been on the sidelines since December 2023, it has been well over two years since AEW fans have seen Lee in the company.

The former AEW World Tag Team Champion has always been seen as a significant name on the roster and someone who could be placed in a top position.

“The Limitless One” could rock the entire landscape of All Elite Wrestling by making his way back to the company at a huge event like Double Or Nothing 2026.

7. Wardlow

Another former champion who could be on his way back to AEW at the upcoming pay-per-view is Wardlow.

Back at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025, Wardlow made his return after over a year on the shelf.

However, the three-time TNT Champion’s return was short-lived as he suffered a torn pectoral muscle while training for his in-ring comeback.

Now after nearly another year on the sidelines, AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 could be the right time for Wardlow to come back to the fold and follow in the footsteps of his Don Callis Family stablemate Brian Cage by making his return.

6. Ruby Soho

Ruby Soho is another AEW star who has been absent from the promotion for a number of years now.

Fans last saw Soho in an AEW ring when she announced her pregnancy back in April 2024.

After giving birth to her first child, Soho has stepped back in the ring to potentially start her training to prepare for a potential comeback.

At AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, Soho could step back into the fold where she might have what it takes to immediately become a factor in the women’s scene once again.

5. Buddy Matthews

On May 15, Buddy Matthews made his first appearance in a pro wrestling ring when he attacked Donovan Dijak at the World Series Wrestling event in Australia.

The former House of Black member has been sidelined from in-ring action for over a year with his last match taking place in February 2025.

Following this appearance for World Series Wrestling, Matthews revealed that he would be cleared to compete in the coming months.

However, Matthews could surprise the world by showing up at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 where he might indicate his future direction in the company upon his official comeback.

4. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. has been a name mentioned when it comes to absent AEW talent over the past year now.

Fans have not seen the former AEW Women’s World Champion in the company since November 2024.

Baker is widely regarded as one of the biggest female stars in AEW history and should be positioned in a prominent way in the promotion.

After over a year since her last appearance, Baker could return at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 and become the latest returning star to challenge Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship.

3. “Hangman” Adam Page

At AEW Revolution 2026, MJF defeated “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Death Match to retain the AEW World Championship.

Due to this loss, Page can no longer challenge for the AEW World Championship as long as he lives.

With no direction towards the top of the company moving forward, it makes things very interesting whenever “Hangman” makes his presence felt in the promotion again.

Following several months on the sidelines, Page could immediately insert himself in a significant role again in AEW with a return that might influence the main event of Double Or Nothing 2026 between MJF and Darby Allin this Sunday.

2. Mercedes Monè

Speaking of the TBS Championship, Mercedes Mone has not been seen in All Elite Wrestling since losing the gold to Willow Nightingale at the tailend of 2025.

Vowing to take a whole lot more than titles when she returns, fans have been anxiously awaiting “The CEO” to come back into the company.

Considering one of the biggest names on the AEW roster, Mone feels like someone who is sincerely missed among the absent stars in the company right now.

Wanting to take her place among the elite in the women’s division, Monè could return to instantly insert herself into the AEW Women’s World CHampionship picture and become the next challenger for Thekla coming out of Double Or Nothing 2026.

1. Jay White

For over one year, Jay White has been on the sidelines after suffering a broken hand and undergoing shoulder surgery.

With such a lengthy absence from the company, fans have to be wondering when White might return and in what way this comeback could happen.

Considering Colten Gunn recently made his return to the Bang Bang Gang, White is the missing link needed to complete this faction in AEW.

“Switchblade” making his return at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 could see him start his march to the top of the company in a spot many fans believe he should have had over the past few years.
