Long absent AEW star Britt Baker has addressed the status of her potential return following last night’s Revolution 2026 pay-per-view.
It has now been 16 months since fans have gotten to see former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker compete inside a wrestling ring, with her last match being against Penelope Ford on the November 13, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Throughout her time away from AEW, fans have continuously questioned both why she’s been gone and whether a return is in fact on the cards.
With AEW Revolution 2026 seeing the returns of other absent stars such as: Adam Copeland, Christian Cage and Will Ospreay, a fan on Twitter questioned tagged Baker and questioned why she hadn’t yet returned “home” to the company.
In response to this, Baker wrote:

What Has Tony Khan Said About Britt Baker’s Status?
With Baker stating that her potential return to AEW is not in her hands, what has AEW’s President Tony Khan had to say on the matter?
Back in February, Khan told the Battleground Podcast that he “really likes” Britt, and he would love to have her back in the company, but didn’t say when he expects this to happen, nor why Baker has been off TV for all this time.
Khan said:
“I would expect to see Britt back in AEW, I just don’t want to say when.
“It’ll be a good thing for everybody when Britt returns and I think it’s going to be very good for AEW in terms of how the roster has evolved.
“There’s more fresh matches, there’s a lot more people to wrestle and fresh rivalries, chance to revisit old rivalries, but certainly the women’s division I think we’ve grown so much and added new stars in the past year alone.
“So many great young wrestlers that have come into AEW. So Britt’s somebody I would love to have back in AEW soon.”

Khan’s comments echo an earlier interview with Z100 New York in October 2025, where he heaped praise on Baker’s contributions to AEW and said he’d “love” to have her back involved in the company.
Could Britt Baker’s AEW Exit Be On The Cards?
In January 2025 several outlets shared updates regarding how long Baker has on her existing AEW deal, with the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer stating that she had a “few more years” left on her deal, while Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp said that the remaining time on her deal was “about a year and a half without injury time”.
If true, and given that no additional injury time is added to her deal, we could see Baker’s time in AEW come to an end later in 2026.
We will provide further updates on Baker’s AEW status, contract and potential return as more information becomes available.
