A new WWE NXT signing officially made their debut on tonight’s episode of NXT following the show’s main event.

WWE recently announced a number of new signings to the Performance Center, with four names now officially signed to the company.

Among those names was independent standout Nikki Blackheart, who recently made her debut in a dark match prior to an episode of WWE NXT under her real-life surname ‘Martinez’.

Nikki Blackheart Debuts In WWE NXT

Tonight’s WWE NXT show was main evented with a women’s division clash, with Tatum Paxley facing off against Kelani Jordan.

Jordan would pick up the win in the match after working over Tatum’s ankle during the match, with NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey watching from ringside.

After the match however, Tatum would get to her feet before she was dropped by the debuting Nikki Blackheart, who took out Tatum to stand tall and close the show.

Nikki was not referred to by any name during the broadcast.

Tony D’Angelo Moving To The WWE Main Roster

Tony D’Angelo is essentially the last of an era in NXT.

Debuting in September 2021 as part of the NXT 2.0 rebrand, D’Angelo was immediately introduced as one of the new stars the brand planned to build the men’s division around, along with the likes of Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams, Grayson Waller and the Creed Brothers.

All of those names are now established on the main roster, and there have been others like Ethan Page, Ricky Saints, Oba Femi and Je’Von Evans who have come in and surged past him as well.

It seems inevitable, that D’Angelo will finally be on his way up to Raw or SmackDown relatively soon.

Hopefully there’s a solid plan in place for his introduction, as the current version of D’Angelo is a lot more muted and stoic than in previous years, and you have to wonder if that will translate to the main roster.

It was generally accepted that elements of the D’Angelo Family would have to be toned down for the main roster – such as not throwing people off bridges to end their lives – but rather than just toning it down, D’Angelo was stripped of the D’Angelo Family entirely.

His story has been one of standing on his own and being very goal-oriented, which has worked with the NXT audience, but might not translate onto the main roster since there’ll be plenty of fans who aren’t familiar with him and his past.
