Will Ospreay has opened up on his emotional journey to the AEW All In main event following his Owen Hart Cup victory.
At AEW Forbidden Door, Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland faced off in the show’s main event in the finals of the 2026 Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
Ospreay would pick up the win with the Tiger Driver, earning him a shot at the AEW World Championship in the main event of AEW All In London on August 30 at Wembley Stadium.
Will Ospreay Reflects On Journey To AEW All In Main Event
Speaking in a digital exclusive, Ospreay reflected on his emotional journey from Essex to the main event of All In.
He said:
“When I was 14 years old, I remember sitting in this classroom with all my school friends, head down, because everyone knew I was a wrestling fan, and wrestling in the UK isn’t as big as what it is in America, it was actually kind of laughed at in England, and when you’re that deep into it and that much of a fan of it, you get laughed at.
“I remember the teacher coming to me and saying what do you wanna be when you grow up? I said I wanna be a pro wrestler. I knew how difficult this journey was gonna be because there was no top star from England. There was no-one from Essex let alone England.
“I had to work for everything. I created my own backyard wrestling company just to get my fixation from wrestling because I wasn’t old enough to go to the training schools. The moment I became 18, I found myself in the London School of Lucha Libre in Bethnal Green, and I worked every day. I was in there every single day doing what I needed to do to make sure I can become one of the greatest, and when I wasn’t doing that, from Saturday to Sunday, I’d be driving up and down the country; from Essex to Newcastle, Newcastle to Birmingham, Birmingham to Manchester, Manchester to Cardiff. I would go up and down this country and everyone kept saying ‘you are not gonna make it because of where you are from’.
“This is bigger than wanting to win a World Championship for wrestling, this is for every child that has ever had a dream, that has ever been looked down, that has ever said you can’t do it because of where you are from and what you have going for you.
“I am someone that suffers from ADHD, and I don’t even say suffering, I use that as my superpower bruv. I’m here and I’m so close to fulfilling that dream, and I hope, even if it’s not about wrestling, you can look at this objectively and see I’m going for it.
“I’ve had my mum tell me that I don’t think you can do it, I’ve had my dad tell me he doesn’t think I can do it, I’ve had every single person believe I can not do it, but I believed in this since day one. All I’ve ever wanted, to stand in the ring in a place like Wembley Stadium, where every kid wanted to kick the winning goal, my time is to take that Penalty.
“I am standing in that place, and I will find a way to be the world champion, for that 14 year old boy, and for every single kid that has had a dream, and I will hold that belt with pride. Pride knowing what’s to come, pride knowing I didn’t do it by stabbing anyone in the back, by just being me; a kid from Essex.”

Who Will Will Ospreay Face At AEW All In?
While we know Ospreay is set to main event AEW All In London in August, it is not yet confirmed who he will be challenging for the AEW World Championship.
After his team’s loss at Forbidden Door, current champion MJF is set for a defence against Mark Briscoe tomorrow night on Dynamite, as well as other challengers coming for him.
MJF is also likely set for a future clash with Andrade El Idolo after Andrade turned on him during the Deaths Door cage match at Forbidden Door, with their match likely taking place at AEW Grand Slam Mexico.
Ospreay has also been speaking to Kenny Omega backstage during a number of segments on Dynamite over the past few weeks, and with AEW Redemption set to take place in Canada next month, many believe that Kenny will end up dethroning MJF at the show, cementing himself as champion to face Ospreay at Wembley.
