WWE’s Sol Ruca has addressed being the subject of criticism on social media and a conversation with Triple H after a botched Sol Snatcher to Becky Lynch on WWE Raw.

The May 4 episode of WWE Raw saw Sol Ruca sign on the dotted line with the red brand following almost four years in NXT, but her first segment as an official Raw superstar unfortunately didn’t go off without a hitch.

When attempting to sign her contract in the ring with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, Ruca was confronted by Becky Lynch, leading to “The Man” attempting to swing at the former NXT star.

When Ruca ducked, Lynch instead hit Adam Pearce, which then distracted the Women’s Intercontinental Champion enough for Ruca to deliver her Sol Snatcher finishing move.

Unfortunately however, the move was not executed with its usual flushness, as Ruca slipped in her build up to it, leading to an awkward execution.

While WWE would edit out the botch in their WWE Raw highlights on YouTube, those who saw the Raw broadcast were not so easily fooled and it became a topic of conversation among fans online.

During an interview with Ringer Wrestling, Ruca discussed the topic of social media criticism and brought up how Triple H called her to reassure that he and others in WWE thought she did a great job in her segment with Lynch, despite all the talk online and her own frustration with how it went.

Ruca said:

“Social media is tough, especially with the trolls and people hating. I feel like a lot of us just want to know what people think. We want to know if people like our matches. We want to know if they’re invested and whatnot. But I feel like it doesn’t matter how many good comments we see, if we see one of those bad ones that strikes a nerve, we’re just like ‘Oh my God, I’m the worst. I did terribly.’

“But yeah it’s just something you have to learn to work through, I think it’s going to be an ongoing thing. I don’t think any of us are ever going to completely get over that.

“I did have Triple H call me after my debut with Becky and the promo and stuff and he was like, ‘I just want you to know you did a great job.’ I was like ‘Yeah, I’m just gonna stay off social media, not 100% happy with how it turned out.’ But he was like ‘We think you did amazing, don’t worry about it, don’t go on social media.’

“He really just gave me that ok of like ‘You’re fine, don’t care what people say, we think you did amazing and just keep doing what you’re doing.’”

While the match will not be contested for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship, Sol Ruca and Becky Lynch will do battle for the first time tomorrow night at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
