Hopefully you won’t get bored of every single intro over the next few days being “Tony Khan has bought Ring of Honor”, but I’m afraid it is what has happened, so you’ll just have to accept it.
One of the main things that led to speculation that the promotion had been bought was that Supercard of Honor had been announced for April 1, and that a number of former ROH stars had been booked.
Well, now that we know Tony Khan has bought the company, we can expect a lot of AEW stars to join the show, but it could mean one star might have to be removed.
As first speculated by Fightful Select, Tony Khan owning Ring of Honor could mean Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo may not be able to wrestle.
While Impact and AEW had a working relationship for several months, that relationship is now over, so Purrazzo would have to have a special deal if she is to wrestle on April 1.
This is just speculation at this point, and there may well already be an agreement in place to let her wrestle. Either way, we’ll update you as soon as more information becomes available.
