Trick Williams Makes Surprise Appearance On WWE SmackDown WWE

A pair of NXT stars made a big appearance on WWE SmackDown. While Carmelo Hayes was scheduled for a match, Trick Williams was unannounced.

Marking the second surprise appearance by an NXT star on tonight’s WWE SmackDown making a big impact on a storyline, Trick Williams ran out on SmackDown.

Carmelo Hayes was set to have another one-on-one match up against Austin Theory after Grayson Waller agreed to the match on his behalf.

Unlike their last meeting (that had to be stopped due to concern for the wrestlers’ safety), this time there was a conclusive winner.

While Theory may have won the match, that didn’t stop him from waging a beat down on Hayes after the match however he and Waller wouldn’t have long to get their shots in.

Instead, making a big run-in appearance was Melo’s NXT tag team partner, Trick Williams.

Williams clearly needed no introduction to the excited Miami crowd who immediately sprang into chanting ‘Whoop that Trick!’ along with his entrance theme.

With Trick Williams running out to save Melo, he took care to remind Carmelo Hayes that he had to come out to save him because they have a big match on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Williams and Hayes will face off against the LWO in the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

The winner of the match will advance to the final to take on Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker at NXT Vengeance Day.

The tag team that is able to win the final match become the 2024 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Cup tournament winners, joining a prestigious list of past winners who have gone on to tag team and singles successes.

Trick Williams is also set for another big opportunity at the premium live event, NXT Vengeance Day as he will face Ilja Dragunov for the NXT World Championship.
