A number of AEW stars are currently absent due to injury, which includes both Skye Blue and Killswitch (Luchasaurus), who have been off television for a number of months.

Skye Blue suffered an ankle injury on the July 20 AEW Collision taping during a match with Hikaru Shida, leading to the match being called off.

Killswitch’s absence was due to him being hospitalised with double pneumonia back in September, with him said to have been days away from permanent lung damage.

All Elite Talk’s Shane D spoke to both Luchasaurus and Skye Blue at the recent Toyhio show, claiming that both had said they were cleared for a return.

Fightful Select (subscription required), provided an update on their statuses. noting that those familiar with their status say that both are ‘close’ to returning, but noted that there is a difference between cleared by doctors and cleared by AEW.

AEW had been operating on the assumption that they wouldn’t get Skye Blue back until the Spring, though she did travel to Australia for Grand Slam to support her boyfriend Kyle Fletcher for the show.

In regards to Killswitch, it was more of a ‘TBD’ timetable considering the nature of his illness.

Fightful was not told of any creative plans for either, but had heard Skye Blue was pushing for a quick recovery and return.

AEW is set to host it’s Revolution pay-per-view on March 9 in Los Angeles.
