Update On Asuka’s WWE Status Following SmackDown Heel Turn WWE

The battle lines for the women’s War Games match at WWE Survivor Series were drawn in the main event of last night’s SmackDown show.

The main event saw Asuka betray her partners Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair, aligning with Damage CTRL’s Bayley, IYO SKY and Kairi Sane.

Kairi Sane was added to the group earlier in the show, when IYO and Dakota Kai recruited her to ‘take the load’ off of Bayley.

Kairi then forgave Bayley for her attack that sent Kairi away from WWE for three years, with all four hugging to officially add Kairi to the group.

Following the show, the upcoming War Games match looks set to see the four face Bianca, Charlotte, Shotzi and a fourth partner.

With Asuka’s turn coming just two weeks before Survivor Series, there has been speculation about Asuka’s true status in the company, and whether she is considered a full-time member of the group, or is simply aligned for War Games.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Asuka is indeed listed internally as a member of Damage CTRL following her turn.

There has been a potential spoiler on the final member of the babyface team for the match, which you can see here.
