During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, 16-time World Champion John Cena revealed that he will not be able to appear at WrestleMania in Tampa Bay this year due to his current acting commitments.
This comes after various sites reported that John Cena was going to be appearing at the marquee pay-per-view in April, with WWE reportedly wanting several big names to appear at the show.
However, on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that it isn’t 100% confirmed that John Cena won’t be able to be at WrestleMania this year, particularly with how quickly regulations can change with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dave Meltzer said that while John Cena probably won’t be able to wrestle on the show, as his HBO Max films into the summer, but he could always appear if rules are changed to allow exemptions from quarantine for athletes or actors.
John Cena is filming in Canada right now, so he would be unable to return to America and not have to quarantine when he renters Canada under the current regulations.
