Despite officially retiring last night at Survivor Series, The Undertaker has seemingly always left the door open for a return to the ring if Vince McMahon calls him and wants him to come back.
However, a new report from WrestlingNews.co seems to suggest that the current expectation from within WWE is that Vince McMahon is not going to call upon ‘Taker to wrestle again following his retirement last night.
The report also notes that The Undertaker was telling people himself that he is actually retired and won’t be stepping back to the ring in a wrestling capacity, despite reportedly being under contract for another fourteen years:
For anyone wondering if The Undertaker is actually retired, he was telling people backstage that he was done. In addition, Vince McMahon is not expected to ask him to wrestle again.
The word backstage was that as hard as it was for McMahon to let go of the character, he realized that it’s time to let him hang up the boots. There were some tears shed backstage and cameras were there to film everything so we’ll likely see backstage footage pop up on a future WWE Network documentary.
A couple of wrestlers joked that it’s “never say never” in wrestling especially when WWE is able to run shows in Saudi Arabia again so not everyone is convinced that Taker is done. The Crown Prince is said to be a big Undertaker fan.
