William Regal appears to be on his way out of All Elite Wrestling and on his way back to WWE at the start of the new year.
Regal’s seemingly last appearance on AEW television took place on the November 30 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he was laid out with a shot from MJF.
During today’s ROH Final Battle media call, Khan gave the reason that Regal requested that AEW not renew his contract, stating that Regal wanted to return to WWE to work alongside his son.
Khan then added that Regal had originally made the request to not have his contract renewed back in October, prior to AEW’s debut shows in Toronto.
Khan eventually granted Regal’s request, putting family first after helping his mother who had recently suffered a stroke.
