We now know why Vince McMahon made the decision to cut the Pat McAfee impersonation segment from last week’s SmackDown.
WWE did post it on social media, and it was basically Pat McAfee really hamming it up with the McMahon strut, completely shaven face, and acting like a very over-the-top version of McMahon.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, McMahon didn’t like this and he thought it was a “parody of a parody” instead of an accurate parody of himself.
McAfee was still dressed as a young Vince McMahon on commentary for the retro-themed show, but dropped the wig and the voice.
McMahon also thought it was “stupid” and “comical, in the wrong way”. You can check out the clip here:
