WWE has announced that we will be getting Women’s Tag Team Championships…at some point in 2019.
FINALLY.
This is an announcement that comes about a year too late, so it’s a relief that they’ve finally got it out of the way.
Vince McMahon made the announcement as part of his “Mr McMahon-ta Claus” appearance at the annual post-Christmas Madison Square Garden house show.
The bizarre aspect of the announcement was that he simply said “in 2019”, so we might still be here at this time next year waiting for the belts to be unveiled on the December 31, 2019 episode of SmackDown Live.
I’m sure they’ll be announced way before that with some kind of tag tournament being held with the final at one of the big four (five) shows.
A number of teams within the women’s tag division have already expressed their excitement at the announcement.
