WWE Legend Ricky Steamboat Has Surgery

Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat underwent hip surgery on Monday in North Carolina, and WrestleTalk is thrilled to announce that the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion is making a fast and comfortable recovery. He’s even opened a new Twitter page to let us know how he’s doing.

If you are a decades old supporter of this wonderful industry, Steamboat will be a part of many childhood memories. Capturing the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Randy Savage at WrestleMania III, having his throat crushed in a vicious assault by Jake Roberts, even his excellent feud in WCW against ‘Stunning’ Steve Austin over the once coveted WCW United States Heavyweight Championship, these were all wonderful memories from a time now cherished.

On a personal note, it was ‘The Dragon’ vs ‘The Nature Boy’ at WCW / NWA Chi-Town Rumble 1989 that got this writer hooked, but one is sure you will all have your own prized memoirs of one the greatest wrestlers to lace up a pair of boots.

The outpour of public support for the legend has been humbling and touching with former wrestlers and fans from around the world piling in with the well wishes.
