Wrestling Veteran Pitches Major Match Against Edge & Christian WWE/AEW

Matt Hardy has pitched a match against a WWE star for his retirement bout, calling for an interesting rematch.

Speaking with Alex McCarthy for Daily Mail Online, Hardy noted that he feels a final Hardy Boyz vs Edge and Christian bout would be a great send-off for him.

When asked about a potential retirement match, Hardy said:

“Whenever I’ve been asked that question, this is always my go-to answer.

“I feel like the perfect kind of retirement final match for Matt and Jeff would be like Matt and Jeff versus Edge and Christian.

“Because we actually made each other in the beginning.

I think that’d be a a very appropriate note to go out on.”

Out of Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Edge and Christian Cage, the Rated R Superstar is the only of these wrestlers to not have signed with AEW.

Edge currently wrestles for WWE, most recently defeating Grayson Waller on the July 7 edition of SmackDown.

It has been heavily speculated that Edge could leave WWE when his contract expires to reunite with Christian Cage before finally hanging up his wrestling boots for good.

It had previously been indicated that his current contract will be up before the end of the year.

Similarly, some have predicted that when Christian Cage’s AEW deal is up, he will return to WWE.
