WWE And AEW Affected By Huge Twitter Hack

In case you weren’t aware, a number of major US companies and famous figures were targeted last night in a sophisticated Twitter hack, in which followers were asked to send money to an account, which would then be doubled and sent to Covid relief funds.

The tweets read: “Everyone is asking me to give back. You send $1,000, I send you back $2,000.”

Twitter has since said that it was a co-ordinated attack targeting its employees, “with access to internal systems and tools”.

As a result of the hack, Twitter blocked all verified accounts from tweeting for several hours, which was rather problematic for both AEW and WWE.

Both promotions were unable to tweet for a large portion of both NXT and AEW: Dynamite, and were forced to either set up new accounts, or use already existing ones, as you can see below.

All is now well in the world, as Twitter appears to have sorted the situation. Thankfully, I’m not famous enough to have had my account frozen.
