AEW’s Eddie Kingston is currently injured and he’s using his time to reacquaint himself with one of his favorite wrestlers – a former WWE women’s champion.

Kingston suffered an injury during his NJPW Resurgence match on May 11, 2024, which will likely see him out of action for the rest of 2024.

The injury will require surgery and rehab, with it being reported that he suffered a tubular fracture and also tore his ACL and meniscus.

While sidelined with the injury, Kingston shared a screenshot of what he’s doing on his own Instagram account.

In the post from Instagram, which can be seen below, Kingston shared a screenshot of the “Kana Five Match Primer Teaser” from Wrestling With The Narrative.

Kana is better known to WWE fans as Asuka, the name she adopted when she joined the company in 2015.

A star across the Japanese wrestling scene, she was a five-time DDT Pro Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion, JWP Openweight Champion, NEO Tag Team Champion and Reina World Women’s Champion among many other titles.

In WWE, not only was she NXT Women’s Champion, she has held the WWE Women’s Championship three times along with having held the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, and is a four-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.

The WWE Grand Slam Champion’s last run as champion came to an end when Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill beat Asuka and Kairi Sane at Backlash on May 4, 2024.

Kingston’s injury would see him pulled from the Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing on May 26 and replaced by Darby Allin.
