WWE star Bayley has commented on the ‘bittersweet’ AEW debut of Mercedes Mone (Sasha Banks) at Big Business.
Mercedes’ AEW debut at Big Business came after months of speculation, with talks between her and WWE reportedly falling through back in December.
Mercedes was visited by WWE stars Bayley, Naomi and Tamina in Boston at her debut, with them sharing numerous videos to social media after the show.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Bayley spoke about Mercedes’ debut at Big Business, and her attending the event.
She said:
“[Mercedes] is the best, I wouldn’t be here without her, she’s done so much for me.
“Even after she was done with WWE, she’s been there for me in my big moments. So I know I need to be there for her continuously throughout the years.
“It was incredible, I’m just happy that she was on a Wednesday where I’m like, ‘alright, I can actually make a Wednesday, that’s one of our few days off.'”
Bayley continued on, noting that it is ‘bittersweet’ to see her friend leave, but she is proud of her and was grateful to be a part of the show.
She added:
“It was really special to see her celebrate with her family and her friends and people she started wrestling with and see her welcomed by a new family.
“It’s bittersweet, but I’m very, very proud of her and just so grateful we got to be there.”
