There was a big title change on tonight’s episode of WWE NXT (February 13) as the main event led to a thrilling conclusion to the show.
An unlikely tag team has captured WWE tag team gold tonight as Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker managed to win big.
The winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament the Wolf Dogs (Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin) may be an unlikely duo but they now hold a championship together.
On tonight’s episode of NXT, the NXT Tag Team Championship was on the line in the main event as the Family, Tony D’Angelo and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo, looked to defend their gold.
Their 92-day reign came to a close on tonight’s show though, as they were bested by Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin.
The title win marks the first championship victory for Baron Corbin in over six years, having last held WWE gold as the United States Champion.
He also won the King of the Ring in 2019 which kicked off his King Corbin gimmick but has remained without a title since.
Bron Breakker, a two-time NXT Champion, for his part continues to seemingly be vetting interest from both WWE Raw and SmackDown after his impressive performance at the Royal Rumble saw him go on to be courted by the General Managers of both main roster shows.
Earlier in the show, the third member of the Family, Adriana Rizzo, lost in a match against O.T.M’s Jaida Parker.
