A WWE Championship has officially been vacated due to injury, with a tournament set to begin to crown the new champion.
On last week’s episode of NXT, Sol Ruca announced that she had suffered an injury during her match on SmackDown with Zaria against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, and would be unable to defend the Women’s North American Championship at Halloween Havoc against Blake Monroe.
However, Sol allowed Zaria to defend her title in her place, which ended up with Blake defeating Zaria to win the title.
Sol also reigned as the WWE Speed Women’s Champion, with no update being given on the status of the title, but an update was officially announced on tonight’s NXT.
Backstage, Sol said that she was still unable to compete due to injury, which led to her relinquishing the Women’s Speed Championship.
Ava offered Sol the chance for someone else to defend the title in her place while she was hurt, but Sol rejected the offer, choosing to vacate the belt.
A tournament is set to begin to crown the next WWE Women’s Speed Champion.
