WWE Fastlane – Full Results And Review

Natalya and Carmella emerged victorious over Becky Lynch and Naomi is a sloppy and fairly pointless match. This sort of thrown-together nothing bout will thankfully no longer exist on pay-per-view once the dual branded shows kick in. Thank goodness. After shenanigans involving the Money in the Bank briefcase, Carmella hit Becky with a superkick and scored the pin. The result mattered little, but on a show full of babyface finishes it made sense to give this one to the heels.

New Day vs. The Usos – perhaps the most anticipated match on the card – ended up being a letdown when it was truncated due to a Bludgeon Brothers assault less than 10-minutes into the contest. The two monsters hit the ring – to music – with both teams down from a dive spot and proceeded to beat the living hell out of them. The beatdown was violent and effective, certainly, it’s just a shame it had to ruin a match that people wanted to see. It looks like another three-way is on the cards for WrestleMania.

Ruby Riott stepped up to the plate in her match with Charlotte Flair, a contest that featured several unique spots and hard work from both. Although far behind some of the best women’s bouts WWE have presented, there was enough here to keep the viewer invested for the 13-minutes plus, a definite positive considering everyone already knew the result beforehand. As had been speculated, Asuka hit the ring post-match to a huge ovation and pointed at the WrestleMania sign, signifying that she was challenging Charlotte to a title match at the annual extravaganza. That match could be a show stealer.
