The pre-show bout was typically worthless, though came with a surprise result when Tye Dillinger and the Fashion Police downed Mojo Rawley, Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable. Somewhat remarkably, Dillinger was given the duke.
The shop proper started with Shinsuke Nakamura beating Rusev in a solid opener. While the result was never really in doubt, the crowd were into the match and behind both performers. A pair of Kinshashas gave Nakamura the win.
Randy Orton added the United States Title to his impressive accolade list in a win over Bobby Roode. The result was expected given how protected Orton is and considering the multi-man that is in the works for WrestleMania. The bout was slow to get going but the work was smooth. It was clear that Roode needs to turn heel because his babyface persona is just not him. That was at least hinted at post-match when he attacked Orton, following Jinder Mahal coming down and decking the new champ too.
