Prior reports have suggested that WWE is hoping The Rock will appear at Survivor Series later this year, but new reports have emerged indicating that WWE actually wants Dwayne Johnson to wrestle at the show.
WrestlingNews.co is reporting that WWE is hoping Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be able to wrestle at Survivor Series in November, writing:
WrestlingNews.co was told that there was some hope that The Rock would actually wrestle at Survivor Series. The reason why WWE wants The Rock on that show is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his debut. The Rock debuted in a traditional Survivor Series match in 1996.
The most obvious match for The Rock in WWE right now is against Roman Reigns, but with that match likely being saved for WrestleMania 38 next year, it remains to be seen who WWE could have Dwayne Johnson wrestle at Survivor Series.
Regardless of whether or not he actually ends up wrestling on the show, it’s very likely at this stage that The Rock will be returning to WWE soon to set up a huge match with Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
