WWE Pitched ‘Invasion Angle’ In Young Bucks Contract Negotiations

It’s being reported that WWE pitched an “invasion angle” to the Young Bucks when trying to sign them to a contract.

Dave Meltzer spoke about the idea, which was supposedly part of an entire proposed storyline involving the Bucks, on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

The proposal centred around WrestleMania 35 season, where the Bucks would invade WWE along with their former Bullet Club buddies if they had also agreed to sign. But as we know, none of Cody, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega or the Bucks decided to sign with Vince’s company.

From what we understand, all of the aforementioned guys were offered huge contracts for WWE, but all decided to go to AEW where they would have a lot more creative freedom.

The Bucks opened up about their offers from WWE in an interview with CBS Sports earlier this year:

“Yeah, we could say that their offer was very aggressive. I’ll tell you this. For a moment, I thought that we would probably be going to WWE. That was the closest that it’s ever come to us going there, for sure. And they were great. They were respectful, and they told us what our value was.

“I think it was really like a wake-up call for us. It was almost like, wow. It’s good to be wanted. These guys, they’re teaching us we are valuable and we’re worth this much. It was definitely something we were considering, and it was hard to turn down, because it would have been life-changing.
