On tonight’s WWE NXT, several huge main roster appearances for next week’s October 10 episode of NXT were announced.
In a parking lot segment from the former NXT champion Carmelo Hayes, he revealed that he was feeling renewed after having had a telephone call with John Cena who gave him some exceptional advice.
Then somewhat astonishingly, Hayes revealed that for the first time ever John Cena was going to be making an appearance on NXT TV.
Cena will be in the corner of Carmelo Hayes as WWE runs back a WrestleMania weekend banger pitting Carmelo Hayes against Bron Breakker.
Shortly thereafter it was announced that not only would John Cena be appearing on next week’s episode of WWE NXT, also Cody Rhodes will pop by the Performance Center for the show.
Rhodes is set to appear on WWE NXT next week to make ‘a major announcement’.
Asuka was also announced as having a match next week on WWE NXT against Roxanne Perez.
As the main show went off the air with a big title change with Dominik Mysterio reclaiming the NXT North American Championship over Trick Williams, there was one more main roster surprise.
Paul Heyman appeared outside saying that it was ridiculous for Melo to be getting support from Cena while Breakker was alone, so Heyman revealed that next week on NXT, he would be in the corner of Bron Breakker with Roman Reigns’ blessing.
So in summary, next week’s NXT will feature AT LEAST John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Asuka and Paul Heyman, plus Dominik Mysterio just won the NXT North American Title back with the help of Judgment Day tonight, and also Becky Lynch still being NXT Women’s Champion.
Of note, October 10 will feature WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite going head to head again as a special ‘Title Tuesday’ edition of Dynamite will be airing during the same time as the above blockbuster.
Already announced for that ‘Title Tuesday’ edition of AEW Dynamite, the AEW debut match of Adam Copeland, his first since leaving WWE as Edge, as he faces Luchsaurus.
