WWE’s Bizarre Backstage View Of LA Knight Revealed

WWE’s Bizarre Backstage View Of LA Knight Revealed WWE

WWE’s counter-intuitive view for LA Knight reveals that there’s a disconnect between what they know him to be and what they present.

With two minutes of TV time from the July 14 episode of WWE SmackDown having been viewed around four million times within just a day, LA Knight’s popularity among the fans is rarely in question.

Even John Cena has previously seemingly given his support to LA Knight through a cryptic Instagram post.

WWE have, however, been lambasted for their treatment of Knight, not long ago using piped-in audio that portrayed boos instead of the cheers he was actually receiving in the venue.

Despite the popularity among fans who react to Knight as a face, Dave Meltzer addressed WWE’s logic on Wrestling Observer Radio, stating:

“They still slot him as a heel, but they know and everyone knows he’s a babyface.”

There does seem to be some change in WWE’s attitude recently, having Knight confront the heel Hit Row group, and NOT editing his crowd response to boos on the latest episode of SmackDown.

Having been named as one of the top WWE merch sellers for the month of June 2023, Knight responded with the word “defiant”.

Knight will be in a Fatal 4-Way Match on the July 21 episode of WWE SmackDown.

The match is a United States Championship Invitational which will also feature Rey Mysterio, Sheamus and Cameron Grimes.

The winner will go on to face Santos Escobar, who won his recent United States Championship Invitational match, to decide the number one contender for Austin Theory’s title.
