A WWE legend has said that there is ‘no chance’ he joins AEW after conversations with Tony Khan, believing the product is ‘too cheesy’.
WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg officially became a free agent at the beginning of 2023 after his contract with WWE officially expired.
Many had speculated that Goldberg could return to wrestling on TNT, and sign with AEW following the expiration of his contract, but it seems as though that won’t be happening.
Speaking to 93.7 The Ticket, Goldberg noted that there was ‘no chance’ he’d join AEW, believing their product is ‘too cheesy’.
He said:
“I’ve talked to him (Tony Khan) a number of times throughout the past. This is where you’re gonna get the most blunt answer you’re gonna get from me. The product is too cheesy.
“The product is too cheesy. It doesn’t deserve to have, whatever [laughs], now you’re really gonna get me going.
“But if there was a comparable, viable option as a competitor that would allow me to still look myself in the mirror after I was a member of their roster, yeah, then it would be a consideration. But not a chance.”
