WWE Match Stopped After Concern For Wrestler Safety

WWE Match Stopped After Concern For Wrestler Safety WWE

UPDATE: Giovanni Vinci has now commented after this match stoppage, which you can read more about right here

A WWE Raw match was stopped after concern for a star’s safety in the middle of the match on the first show of 2024.

On tonight’s special WWE Raw Day 1, there was a tag team match between fan favorites Jey Uso and Kofi Kingston taking devious bad guys, Imperium (Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser).

However, midway through the match after a move that saw a dropkick rock Vinci backwards and he appeared to land precariously, the ringside Doctor was shown checking on the star.

With the camera not showing the downed star, it was apparent that any concern for injury was legitimate rather than occurring within the ‘storyline’ of the match.

The match was called via ‘referee stoppage’ in favor of Kingston and Uso as Vinci was visible walking away from the ring on his own volition albeit touching the back of his head.

Elsewhere on tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, there was already a slight shift in presentation since 2024 began.
