Two more WWE stars have qualified for the upcoming Money in the Bank ladder matches coming out of tonight’s episode of Raw in Mexico City.
The annual Money in the Bank premium live event is set to take place in New Orleans on October 10, with both the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches taking shape.
Last week, qualification began with Bron Breakker qualifying on the men’s side, and Sol Ruca confirming her spot for the women.
Breakker defeated Rey Mysterio and Ethan Page in his qualifier, while Ruca’s win came against Lyra Valkyria and Maxxine Dupri.
Tonight, the qualifying matches continued, starting with the men’s match between Je’Von Evans, Austin Theory and Big Cass.
It was Evans who picked up the win by pinning Cass, so the men’s field so far is made up of Bron Breakker and Je’Von Evans, with four more participants to be determined in future qualifiers.
Later on Raw, the women’s qualifier featured Women’s Intercontinental Champion Raquel Rodriguez, NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan, and new main roster call-up Lola Vice.
It was Vice who scored the win as she got the pinfall over Rodriguez, so the field for the women is now Sol Ruca and Lola Vice, with four additions still to be decided.
No bad choice for WWE so far at Money in the Bank
The four names now qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder matches are Bron Breakker, Sol Ruca, Je’Von Evans and Lola Vice.
Of those four names, not one of them would be a bad choice to ultimately win Money in the Bank – actually, any of them would be really positive choices.
Breakker is probably the far and away favorite for the men, while there are arguments for and against both Ruca and Vice in the women’s match.
They’re both young and full of potential, but they’re also new to the WWE main roster and haven’t established whether they can be world championship level yet, so the company may hesitate to elevate them so soon.
With that said, again, it wouldn’t be a bad thing, especially at a time that so much criticism towards WWE comes as a result of refusing to push younger talents.
