A veteran WWE star who hasn’t wrestled in July 2022 has confirmed that they’ve not actually retired and don’t plan to just yet.
The last time WWE fans saw MVP lace up his boots when when he teamed with Omos to face The Street Profits in July 2022.
Whilst he has been a presence on WWE television, managing the aforementioned Omos, he hasn’t competed since.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, MVP explained his current position on wrestling, saying:
“I’ve got a few left. I haven’t hung the boots up yet.
“I’m not as eager to climb into the ring as I once was, but when necessary, I’m still capable.”
He would go on to discuss being less eager and the reasons behind it, adding:
“I take pretty good care of myself and I try to stay active, I still do Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but as I’ve gotten older, my workouts have changed.
“I don’t do regular bodybuilder workouts. Now, I try to do workouts that are more about function and movement.
“I am coming into my age and embracing my mortality.”
MVP is a two time WWE United States Champion and has held the WWE Tag Team Championship (with Matt Hardy).
He was the inaugural IWGP Intercontinental Champion in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
MVP described Bobby Lashley’s lack of a WrestleMania 39 match as “an absolute travesty” in an interview teasing the return of the Hurt Business.
