WWE SmackDown commentator and former leader of the Nexus Wade Barrett has pitched a movie about the company’s Bloodline stable.
On the most recent edition of Raw, which celebrated 30 years since the programme first aired on American television, the stable put “honorary Uce” Sami Zayn on trial for perceived infractions against the family.
During the dramatic segment, Zayn was tried by the group’s council Paul Heyman, who convinced Tribal Chief Roman Reigns to sentence Zayn to a Samoan Spike from group enforcer Solo Sikoa. However, Zayn was exonerated by former rival Jey Uso, who convinced Reigns to grant Sami a stay of execution.
The segment was heavily praised, with many drawing comparisons to TV shows like Succession and films like The Godfather.
It seems that one person who saw the Hollywood potential of the storyline was Barrett, who tweeted about the segment:
“Watching the opening Bloodline segment from last night’s #RawXXX (side note: the west coast tape delay SUCKS!). I could watch a full feature-length movie with those six characters. Setting new industry standards for chops & drama. #WWERAW”
