Popular NXT Star Returns After Title Match At Gold Rush

Popular NXT Star Returns After Title Match At Gold Rush WWE

Week 5wo of NXT Gold Rush kicked off with one of the night’s big championship bouts with Tiffany Stratton taking on Thea Hail.

While the match certainly had a big fight feel, it also wouldn’t be without controversy as the ending left fans and the commentators alike wondering if Thea Hail had been robbed.

When Thea Hail had Tiffany Stratton in a submission hold as she grasped towards the ropes, Charlie Dempsey moved the ropes to favor Hail, but did so right in front of the referee.

While this kicked off a war between Duke Hudson and Charlie Dempsey with Drew Gulak yelling at the ref, back in the ring, Hail got Tiffany Stratton in a Kimura Lock and she tapped out, but unfortunately for Thea, the ref was still occupied with Gulak.

With Stratton able to capitalize, she rolled up Hail to get the win, and quickly left the ringside area with her title as pandemonium broke out after the match.

With a brawl ensuing between Duke Hudson, Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey, Thea Hail sat in the ring, torn between the two sides until a thunderous return helped the even the score.

With a returning Andre Chase running out to fend off an attack on Hudson from Dempsey and Gulak, Chase U reunited as Thea Hail remained with them in the ring.

With the Great American Bash coming up on Sunday, July 30, 2023, there are multiple Championships on the line on tonight’s special edition of NXT, Gold Rush.

Next up, the NXT Tag Team Championship is on the line as Gallus defends against Malik Blade and Edris Enofe.
