Changes Made To WWE Raw To Push ‘More Star Power’ Later In The Show WWE

According to a new report, there was succinct rationale for making a change to the order of tonight’s matches: to support more ‘star power’ later in the show.

Reported by PWInsider, there have been several changes made to tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, keeping some details in flux.

The original planned order of the first three matches on Raw was Cody Rhodes vs Dominik Mysterio, then Shinsuke Nakamura vs Ricochet, then Kofi Kingston vs Ivar.

However, the latter two were switched around.

The reason? According to the report to ensure there was ‘more star power’ continuing later into the show than what was originally planned as Seth Rollins was also set to appear in that segment, which he did.

The match ended when Shinsuke Nakamura and Ricochet ended up using a steel chair, which caused Rollins to come out and save Ricochet, continuing to set up a rematch from Payback against Nakamura.

As previously covered, WWE announced Erik of the Viking Raiders was ‘not cleared’ and that’s why it was Kingston vs Ivar instead of the advertised New Day vs Viking Raiders 2/3 falls tag match.
