WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has officially announced new matches for Monday’s episode, in the lead-up to Backlash.
The May 4 edition of WWE Raw will emanate from the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
In his social media preview ahead of the show, Adam Pearce confirmed two new matches for the upcoming episode, in addition to Oba Femi’s open challenge.
Pearce revealed that Je’Von Evans and Penta will team up to take on Rusev and recent NXT call-up Ethan Page.
A JD McDonagh vs Finn Balor rematch was also announced, following the duo previously facing off on the April 20 show. Adam Pearce stated in his video that McDonagh “wants to take another crack.”
In addition to these matches, Pearce stated that Monday’s show will be Sol Ruca’s first as an official Raw signing, and vowed to get the contract signed for the World Heavyweight Championship match between Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu.

The May 4 show will actually be the go-home edition of Raw ahead of that weekend’s Backlash premium live event, which will take place at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida on May 9.
With Backlash taking place just two weeks after WrestleMania 42, this event will be important for establishing the post-Mania directions for the company’s top stars as we head into the summer.
Five matches have been announced for Backlash so far, with Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu meeting in a World Heavyweight Championship match.
Also announced for the card are IYO SKY vs Asuka, Seth Rollins vs Bron Breakker, Danhausen and a to-be-announced opponent vs The Miz and Kit Wilson, and a US Championship rematch between Trick Williams and Sami Zayn.
