WWE Backstage Reaction To First Vince McMahon-less WrestleMania Revealed

The backstage WWE reaction ahead of the first Vince McMahon-less WrestleMania event ever has been revealed.

While last year’s WrestleMania 39 event took place with Triple H as the Chief Content Officer, it was not without influence from Vince McMahon.

Vince forced himself back into power in January 2023, and had been making remote changes to creative following his return, but had not been physically at the shows.

With McMahon now completely out of the picture, tonight’s show will mark the very first WrestleMania without ANY kind of influence from Vince McMahon.

In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), there is a general feeling of excitement ahead of the show.

Vince physically reappeared at WrestleMania weekend last year, and outright changed the finish to at least one match on the show, changing up the winner and loser of the match.

While Vince had long been in favour of Roman Reigns defeating Cody Rhodes in the show’s main event last year, that result had actually been made, well ahead of time.

With McMahon now having zero influence over this year’s event, either personally or by proxy, numerous higher ups in the company have stated they believe there is no incentive to further any creative preferences or agendas that he may have.

They also believe that McMahon is far more concerned about the very real issues facing him in regards to the Janel Grant lawsuit and other incidents.

One top talent noted that there has been ‘an aura of excitement’ this week, reiterating that they don’t put the disgusting acts that McMahon is alleged of doing in the rear view, but the cloud of him potentially forcing his way back in to ‘fuck up everyone’s good time’ is no longer there.

Beyond no longer having any influence in the company, Vince is also not expected to pop up at the show, though his appearances have also not been wanted in the past.

This year’s Raw after WrestleMania is another point of excitement for several in the company, as this year’s event will be unimpeded. Numerous people in the company said that they haven’t believed the show has felt like an ‘event’ in years, and now it has much more of a possibility of being the type of show fans remember it being.

Last year’s Raw after WrestleMania saw major changes at the hands of Vince McMahon, as his influence had only been reported before then, with him showing up at the event to make sweeping changes to the show, leading to one of the most universally panned episodes of the show in history, with many talents and agents noting that the original plans for the show were much better before Vince’s involvement.

One WWE official noted that there were ‘still a few tickets on StubHub’ when asked about Vince McMahon and WrestleMania.
