WWE’s Ridge Holland Breaks Silence After Ilja Dragunov Is Stretchered Away WWE

Ridge Holland has now commented following an injury angle that took place on the December 19 episode of WWE NXT.

Holland had recently made a return to NXT, pursuing a ‘redemption of Ridge’ storyline with the Brawling Brutes member noting his proximity to ‘accidents’ and ‘injuries’.

Holland faced off against Ilja Dragunov on the show, but the match was ultimately cut short due to an injury angle which saw Dragunov stretchered out of the arena.

Ridge Holland has now reacted to his opponent being stretchered away, taking to Twitter to post:

“I’m sorry for what happened @UNBESIEGBAR_ZAR.

“This not who I am. Get Well Soon”

The full match from WWE NXT can be seen below this news story, including Dragunov being stretchered out.

It has been reported that this finish was an angle, with a previous report noting sources felt “the idea was a bit controversial” before it happened.

The report by Fightful Select notes that NXT sources stated everyone seemed happy with the performance and camera work.

It was further reported that producers also seemed pleased with the reaction the angle got from the crowd.

They were aware that most in attendance understood it was an angle because of how quickly they announced that the next show was starting during the taping.

Dragunov is scheduled to defend the NXT Championship against Trick Williams at WWE NXT New Year’s Evil on January 2, 2024.
