A WWE name has revealed the main event for the appropriately named Saturday Night’s Main Event, and Danhausen isn’t in that match.
For the first time in his career, Danhausen will be competing at Madison Square Garden in New York, with the July 18 special also marking his Saturday Night’s Main Event in-ring debut.
Over recent weeks, Danhausen has found himself on the receiving end of abuse from Judgment Day, having taken ‘human monies’ from Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh.
With McDonagh having been electrocuted by Danhausen’s experiments, the issues have boiled over, with the pair set to face off at the iconic venue.
Speaking on The Sal Licata show, Michael Cole was asked if Danhausen would be in the main event for the upcoming special given he’s front and center on the marketing of the show, to which Cole responded:
“The main event on Saturday will be a tag team match with CM Punk, the WWE Champion, teaming with Cody Rhodes, the guy he meets at SummerSlam for the title, against GUNTHER and Sami Zayn.”

SummerSlam takes place on August 1 & 2 with Punk defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes.
While Danhausen may have issues of his own, Cody Rhodes has also run into issues with GUNTHER, saving Nick Aldis from a beatdown on last week’s SmackDown.

Less Is More, The Success Of Danhausen
Debuting earlier this year, Danhausen has had only a handful of matches in WWE, with most of his antics being backstage segments, including a range of shenanigans.
To date, the star has competed just four time on television, with victories over Kit Wilson, The Miz, and Los Garza (Angel & Berto) thanks to his team up with Matt Cardona. WWE Backlash would round out the quartet of matches, with Danhausen and Minihausen beating Kit Wilson and The Miz back in May.
This isn’t the say that the star has only had four matches in total, having completed the WWE European Summer Tour with a string over victories over The Miz and Kit Wilson across the continent.
A veteran with thirteen years experience, it does seem odd that he wouldn’t be used in a more consistent capacity as an in-ring talent, yet the fans have been receptive to any appearance he has made and WWE creative are clearly aware of the affection the audience has towards the star.
Suffice to say, his Saturday Night’s Main Event outing is likely to be another strong showcase for the star, blending his in-ring ability with the showmanship that he has shown in the wake of his debut.
