With just over two weeks until WWE SummerSlam, details of which match could be the night two main event have now been revealed.

WWE SummerSlam takes place on August 1 and 2, marking the second time the Premium Live Event has been a two-night spectacle.

With a card that will see the Undisputed WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship among the multiple titles to be on the line, details of which match could be the main event have been revealed.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer indicated that the Sunday night main event could be for the World Heavyweight Championship, stating:

“Right now, nothing has been announced for which night, although the belief is that Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the world title would be the Sunday main event.”

This week’s episode of WWE Raw saw tensions boil over between Rollins in Reigns, resulting in their war of words turning into a physical altercation.

The Two-Night Party Of The Summer

SummerSlam 2025 saw seven matches on August 2, with six making up the rest of the card for the two-night WWE PLE the following night.

Night 1 featured CM Punk defeating GUNTHER to become World Heavyweight Champion only to lose the title to Seth Rollins shortly thereafter thanks to The Visionary cashing in his Money in the Bank title shot.

Night 2 closed out with Cody Rhodes defeating John Cena to become Undisputed WWE Champion in a Street Fight.

Placing the World Heavyweight Championship on Night 2 of this year’s show would likely mean that Cody Rhodes would defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against CM Punk to close out Night 1, although either main event is yet to be confirmed.

WWE could be bold in their booking, given the number of titles on the line across both nights. Liv Morgan defends the Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY, which would certainly be a main event-worthy match.

Elsewhere, Penta will put the Intercontinental Championship up against Chad Gable, while a six-man tag team match between Jacob Fatu & The Usos and LA Knight, Royce Keys & Solo Sikoa has also been added to the card.

Finally, at the time of writing, and with much speculation that a retirement is approaching, Brock Lesnar faces Oba Femi in an Hell in the Cell match.
