WWE CCO Triple H’s was among to the first to reach out to the former TNA Wrestling name following their departure from the company.

In February 2024, TNA Wrestling president Scott D’Amore was fired from the company, leaving a number of stars ‘upset‘ by the decision.

The impact of the depature was felt beyond TNA Wrestling, with D’Amore recently revealing Triple H’s contact with him during a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, saying:

“When I got let go, the outpouring of support from people, it was truly touching. They always say, it’s too bad people can’t be there at their funerals for all the nice things people say, I feel like I almost got to experience that.

“It was so wonderful, and the amount of people who reached out and said I touched their lives and made a difference was huge, whether it was just fans saying ‘Hey I loved what you did,’ or so many people in the industry, it was very touching.

“Actually, one of the very first people to text me when they posted the news – the first time I looked at my screen after it went public, the screen was full of messages.

“One of them was from Triple H. It was just ‘Are you okay?’, which I think was a classy move.”

Following his firing, it was reported that D’Amore had visited the WWE Performance Center, sharing an insight into the visit in past comments.

D’Amore would go on to found Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, with the promotion being among the recent additions to the MyAEW streaming platform.

WWE and TNA Wrestling continue to enjoy a long-term partnership that was formalized in January of last year.

An Unceremonious Exit

Not for the first time, Scott D’Amore parted ways with TNA Wrestling in early 2024, being fired from the company and bringing to an end his role as President, which had started in March of the previous year.

Previously, D’Amore had departed TNA Wrestling after his contract expired in July 2008, only to return in August the following year, being brought back at the road agent for the Knockouts, having served in multiple backstage roles, including as head of the booking team.

Seeing his return encompass the role of Vice President of International Relations under Jeff Jarrett in 2017, D’Amore would transition to head of creative after the former WWE star was, himself, terminated by the company. D’Amore would later become an executive vice president (alongside Don Callis) until May 2021, rising to the aforementioned President role.

Announcing the firing in February 2024, it was stated that “the move aims to further integrate TNA Wrestling into Anthem’s Entertainment Group”, with the parent company’s President assuming the duties of Amore.

There’s little doubt that D’Amore was a beloved figure backstage, particularly with the stars upset by his departure, and it’s clear that, through Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling, the former TNA Wrestling President has more to offer to the industry at large.
